Midnight sun, mighty peaks and Turquoise water - can you imagine a better place?

After visiting Lofoten in the summer of 2024 with my family, I started dreaming about returning for a couples’ trip with my husband. The idea of exploring the archipelago more freely, indulging in all the hikes we wanted, and immersing ourselves in nature’s raw beauty felt like the perfect escape.

Our plan was simple yet liberating: reach the archipelago, follow our instincts, and let the journey unfold. We packed a tent and aimed to be as self-sufficient as possible, ready to embrace the adventure ahead.

The first night was magical. We camped on Bunes Beach, a secluded gem nestled within Lofotodden National Park. The midnight sun graced us with its golden glow, and sleep felt impossible - we didn’t want to miss a single moment of its ethereal beauty.

As we ventured further, we spent a night on Munken, a mountain peak that offers solitude and breathtaking views - a serene alternative to the crowded trails of Reinebringen. If you’re seeking peace and untouched wilderness, Munken is a must-visit.

Our journey continued with a stay near the surf camp on Flakstad Beach, where we were able to hide out during bad weather. Uttaklive beach was another must-visit place, where we spent time surrounded by curious sheep and nasty birds, which were stealing our food ;-) Finally, we wrapped up our trip in Fredvang, hiking to Ryten and admire mesmerising view to Kvalvika Beach.
